Success Equestrian Hunter No-Slip Saddle Pad 4.4 5 5 5
Doesn't slip!! This is a really nice pad as it's rigid and has cushion to it. I ride a wide mare and this pad fits her perfectly. My saddle is a 17" close contact and the pad fits very nicely around all the edges with a bit of room to spare (I got the large size). It does not look overly big. I was a bit skeptical about the non-slip part because I have the worst time with pad slippage, but after jumping several rounds, the pad stay put. It does not feel bulky under my leg either. It also seemed to ventilate well as my mare wasn't overly sweaty when I removed the pad. I plan to use this on the A circuit this season. I think it's a nice conservative look as the fleece is not too fluffy. Overall, a nice pad for the money. February 23, 2013
Disappointed As with many of my pleasantly-plump QH types, I had a lot of problems with saddle slippage. This pad kept everything in place, the one time I used it. Unfortunately, even the large wasn't big enough for my 17.5" ADT close contact saddle. Very disappointed but luckily SmartPak took it back free of charge. Loved the pad, just smaller than I had hoped. September 29, 2012
Nice Pad - A bit Expensive I like this pad a lot. It just fits my 17.5" close contact saddle but I do have to tweak it around a little when I put it on. It would be nice if it was just a tiny bit larger around the edges to show a little more border. I really like the fact that it is non-slip and I've had no problems with slipping at all. It looks durable and well made. I have not washed it yet, but I think it will probably hold up fine. I probably will buy another eventually but the price is holding me back for now. It would be nice if it came in other colors. I do tire of white. August 26, 2012
No Slip Pad I have had a hard time finding a hunter saddle pad that does not slip back under my leg. I used this pad at Devon this year. After three jumping rounds and an under saddle class, not once did this pad slip. I will never use another hunter saddle pad! June 6, 2012
WORTH IT I bought this saddle pad because every time my TB was body clipped, his saddle would slide mercilessly. I used this saddle pad and it really worked well. My saddle slipped a little bit, but i think it could also be due to the type of saddle and the build of my horse. Even though my saddle did slip a little bit, there was a major improvement. It looks very sharp and it is very padded for his back without being too bulky under my boots. Worth the price. Love it! December 20, 2011

To Clip or Not to Clip I've heard that body clipping in the spring is "too late" because you're clipping over the newly growing in coat... What do you think? What's the best body clipping schedule? - Jessica N., Charlotte, VT
