Rhino Wug Turnout
My 3rd Blanket Failure with SmartPak
I ordered this blanket to replace a SmartPak high neck blanket that had lost its surcingle strap after two weeks on my horse. I opened the package on the Rhino Wug and one of the front buckles came out in two pieces. Obviously, it had to go back. I can't reorder because this blanket is no longer in stock. What's frustrating is that this is my 3rd failed blanket from SmartPak. I purchased two SmartPak high neck blankets and both of them failed, one with the surcingle and the other tore at a seam after two weeks on my 22 year old mare.

I heard great things about this blanket so I went ahead and ordered it. I have to say, it's pretty fabulous! It fits true to size and I love the front closure. It makes for a snug fit (so water & cold won't get in) and distributes the mass so it won't tear straight across like normal blankets sometimes do. I also love the high neck. The quality is excellent and I thought the pattern wouldn't be so attractive, but it looks gorgeous on my dark bay. I wouldn't mind snuggling up in this thing. Two thumbs up! Since it's a Rhino, I expect it will hold up nicely.

I loved the plaid on this blanket. And the fit was perfect for my WB/Arab cross gelding. But I am sorry to say it did not hold up as well as I had hoped. It seems the quality of the material used for the lining is much poorer than in previous years products, resulting in it tearing not only away from the seams, but also in randon places. The fit was perfect, but the blanket was in total shreds after only two seasons. I am a disappointed Rambo fan.

Nice blanket just wish it fit!
I wanted a heavy durable blanket with a higher neck and this blanket seemed to be everything I needed. Unfortunately it was too small. This in my opinion seems to be the case with this line of horseware. I ordered the Newmarket sheet last year (size 81) in the gold, red stripes which looks stunning on my 17 hand gelding and it fit him every place, but in the shoulder. So I figured that to fit I'd be fine if I ordered the 84 and sadly it has the same issue. I could barely buckle it and he looks like he is wearing a straight jacket! He is a big boy, but not anything close to a draft (he's an Oldenburg) so I was very disappointed to have to return it. Nicely made, stylish plaid. Kudos to SmartPak for being on time with deliveries and easy returns. My credit hit my card 2 days after being notified they received the return.

After purchasing several sheets for my OTTB that did not hold up to his heavy duty rolling, I finally decided to purchase this Rhino Wug. It fit him perfectly, almost like a custom sheet. I like the way it stays put on him after he rolls and plays. I'll definitely replace his midweight blanket with Rhino Wug!

Too snug in the shoulders
The Wug is excellent quality and lovely color. However, it fits rather too tight across my (14h welsh/Q'horse) pony's shoulders and he seemed constricted despite this being 1 size larger than he normally wears. Too bad it's not a good cut for him - it's a beautiful turnout.
