Not for my picky eater
I really wanted to love this supplement, it has some great ingredients in it. My young horse is stuck on stall rest for 2-3 weeks while the stitches his pasture "friend" gave him heal. As he normally lives outside all day and gets worked 6 days a week, I knew he was going to have some serious pent up energy. Unfortunately he wouldn't touch this stuff. He does tend to be a picky eater so I mixed it in with a bran mash right from the start, and he still wouldn't touch it. I just wish he'd found it more palatable!
Other reviewers don't seem to have had problems getting their horses to eat it, so maybe my guy is just extra picky.

Good Product
When my horse wounded his pastern this product kept him from trying to run around on it and reduced the fluids weeping out all the time preventing his healing. I keep him in a pasture with a mare and didn't have a stall to put him in. So it was a lifesaver. I used it in conjunction with Smart Flex Rehab. It was a winning combo. My horse finally started to heal after days and days of no progress. I was so relieved it worked.

something is working very well...
I bought this to cover the herbal side of keeping my horse calm, as well as SmartCalm to cover the Mg/Vitamin side of things....something is keeping my horse MUCH calmer this time (with a terrible flexor tendon tear) than the first time a few years ago that he was on very restricted activity/stall rest. No bucking/rearing....he seems pretty calm and happy most of the time (relatively speaking!) and can stay in a box stall with a small run without anything more than walking and standing. One of these is keeping him happy and sane - no small task! Ordered this extra fast when I realized I was running low :-)

Takes the edge off!
When our horses were stuck inside for 2-1/2 weeks with no turn out due to icy conditions, and very little riding (lots of lunging though), my 4 year old started engaging in some destructive behavior...eating his blankets, pulling window trim apart and stall walking constantly. Rest Easy was just enough to take the edge off and stop these behaviors without making him sedated. I'd highly recommend it!

Very Helpful for Horses suddenly on Stallrest
I think it works extremely well for excitable horses who find themselves on complete stallrest all of a sudden. One of mine developed severe laminities for the first time a year ago, potentially had to be confined for the next 4 - 5 months. Rest Easy Gold worked well for a month or so, then I had to add some Confidence Plus to the Mix, and shortly thereafter (still giving him Bute, putting fancy shoes with frog pads on his front) I had to return him to freedom, to move around the pasture and get at least some exercise to keep him and me from losing our sanity. - But whatever the reason, Rest Easy Gold probably should be one of those herbal remedies a horse owner should have available at all time .... just in case. Especially when the expected 'time of confinement' is more a matter of weeks rather than months.

Worked great!
I used this on my horse when he was on complete stall rest for a month after surgery. It was easy to measure out the amount every morning and pour over his food, and he ate it well. He was remarkably good while "doing his time", and I think this product definately had a large part to do with that. I would definately use it again for a horse on stall rest or limited turnout.
