Necessary first aid item
This is a necessary first aid item, and so useful and effective in cleaning up all the scrapes and stuff my horse gets. It's also good for any other skin issues, getting rid of all the germs and crud. I always have some on hand.

Great product
I love providone-iodine--I use it for lots of things. I mix 1/2 iodine w/ 1/2 alcohol and apply to my horse's soles after cleaning unless they are completely dry. I NEVER have thrush! It is non-staining, and I squirt it on straight (and do not rinse) on the legs if there is a HINT of fungus. In the hot summer when the horses sweat so much, I apply it carefully to the forelock and massage it in if they are getting any fungus there. Any knick, and I apply it straight to disinfect and then put whatever ointment I am using. I consider this one of my most inexpensive but useful products.

A Must Have for First Aid
This providone-iodine solution is my go to product for first aid. Honestly, my tack trunk would not be complete without it. Best of all, it is cheap and comes in a large container!

Good After Abscess treatment
I use this product after the soaking\draining stage of a hoof abscess. It disinfects and hardens up the hoof. It is an especially good product to use if the farrier created a drainage channel in the hoof.
