Nylon Lungeing Caveson 2.8 5 5 5
Nose band WAY too small I have a 3 yr old who is going to mature to about 16.1 hh w/ stocky build . This product fit him fine up until a few weeks ago. The nose band has always been sort of small, like that I had to buckle it on the biggest or second to biggest notch. But as of this week I cannot fasten it around his nose anymore. I never had any issues with it slipping off, and we had been using it since he was 1 1/2 yrs old. The rest of it fit fine, just the nose band is way too small. Don't buy if you have a large horse ( warmblood sized ). This would probably fit fine if you had an Arabian or a pony or something with a smaller nose. I love SmartPak, but I will unfortunately be shopping elsewhere for a new training halter. October 13, 2012
Quality Lunge Caveson This lunge caveson was a bit pricey for just being nylon, but I actually purchased it to use on ponies even though it is horse sized. I was able to burn holes in the nose band, throat latch, and cheek pieces, and it actually fits the ponies great! May 22, 2012
It works ok. I have no problems with this slipping off the head. If you are using it for what its designed for...ie working on advance training a ' somewhat already trained horse' who isn't totally green and going crazy its not going to come off. They stay on fine and they are inexpensive. They are very lightweight thats true but when used properly and for what its intended you shouldn't have any problems. I never have. BUT get the right size. Horse means horse. not pony or cob because if its slipping off..its too big. September 9, 2011
Not for training... This design is so poor I would not recommend this over using a HALTER! If a horse pulls to the outside or does an funny baby stuff (the horse that needs a caveson in the first place) it will just slip right off their head!! It ALSO does not stay in place even IF it stays on, and the outside cheek piece is pulled into the horse's eye... VERY POOR DESIGN... DANGEROUS PRODUCT DO NOT BUY!!! August 4, 2011
Good Buy This is a well made caveson for the price however I do wish that it came in a cob/pony size. I had a hard time trying to make it fit my Arab comfortably. July 1, 2009

To Clip or Not to Clip I've heard that body clipping in the spring is "too late" because you're clipping over the newly growing in coat... What do you think? What's the best body clipping schedule? - Jessica N., Charlotte, VT
