Mountain Horse Rimfrost Jr. Paddock 4 5 3 3
Warmest Boot Ever! I was given these as a present a few seasons ago. They are by far the warmest winter boot Ive ever used, I use them even in spring and fall. They do run slightly large, and after 2 hard winters, and almost constant use, one side has cracked and they need to be replaced. They are slightly thick for riding, but you get used to it. Awesome for the money. August 21, 2012
Very warm, but stiff I would recommend these boots to a friend with the caution that they are very stiff; even after a whole winter of riding in mine, they are still stiff to the point of discomfort and restriction of heel motion in the stirrups. They are warm (very!) and held up great to walking around in snow, mud, and muck, but I had to give them up because they were just too uncomfortable to ride in. I could not get them to flex enough to get a decent weight in my heel--especially over fences--and would often wind up with red welts on my foot from where the boot would not "break" at the ankle. As always, Mountain Horse has great quality items--I just wish these were a little more pliable. January 10, 2012
Tough, durable boot I was given these as a Christmas present a week or two early due to my job - 8hrs a day, on my feet, at a racing farm (stalls, hotwalking, grooming, and everything in between). These boots are great. Lots of people have said these are stiff as a board, but what new boots aren't? I wore these for an entire work day right out of the box - they broke in great after a couple hours, they were WARM, stood up to everything I could throw at them and never batted an eye. My only concerns with these were that the fit was a TAD loose (I wear a 6.5, so got a 7 and I could tell), and the footbed is a bit... thin. I'd like a bit more cushion and am considering a Dr. Scholl's insert or something to help. Other than that, I'm very impressed so far. December 25, 2011

To Clip or Not to Clip I've heard that body clipping in the spring is "too late" because you're clipping over the newly growing in coat... What do you think? What's the best body clipping schedule? - Jessica N., Charlotte, VT
