Beautiful boots
So I was in love with these boots for quite awhile before ordering. I was SO excited when they arrived! They were stunning, and the leather quality is high. A very attractive boot with an awesome sole.
Bad news? They didn't fit. =( They are super slim through the area right above the ankle, and even though I fit the measurements, they wouldn't even zip. Even if they had, they would have been too short, and the Longs would have been way too small on my calves. I'm still giving them a good rating because they were absolutely beautiful!

Excellent for Wide Calves
I have 17" calves and a size 6-6 1/2 feet, and a normal height calf. This poses a huge problem for me trying to find boots; riding and otherwise! I decided against the FF brand, because I don't find the accordion stretch panel to be as professional looking. The size chart said that the size 7's fit up to 16 7/8', so I decided to try them out. They run a little narrow in the foot, but THEY ZIPPED. They took 7-8 rides and several awkward trips to the grocery store to really break in, but now I can hardly ride in paddocks and half chaps now. I like the slight stiffness side-to-side, as I tend to pronate my ankle. I might have to buy a second pair to keep nice for showing, because I want to ride in them every time.

Finally tall boots that fit
I have never been able to find tall boots that fit me correctly, as I have short lower legs and wide, basketball player calves. Thanks to the staff at SmartPak, I am now in these Mtn Horse Richmond Field boots. Both the foot and the calf fit great, and the quality of the boot is what I would expect from a much more expensive choice. Still breaking them in, but thrilled with the purchase so far.

still stretching
I can't wait to ride in these boots. They seem very well made, and the foot part is quite comfortable. Unfortunately, I am still wearing them around the house and sponging them with alcohol to stretch out the legs and break down the ankles to the point where I can bend my knees in them. These boots have the largest calf measurement of any I could find except the Fuller Fillies boots, which I have- those don't seem very durable so I'm keeping them for dress use. I was hoping these would be good everyday schooling boots, but it still takes a helper and a shoehorn to zip them up. When I look around at my riding friends, I certainly don't have the biggest or the shortest legs- why must boot companies insist that we should all be tall & skinny? We need more *actual* full calf boots on the market!

Fabulous Boots
I ordered these boots dreading breaking them in, but the leather is very supple, and they broke in almost immediately. The zipper seems sturdy, and they are nice enough to show in. The only con to these boots is that the SCS3 system made dismounting a little tricky with ordinary fillis pads. That issue was quickly solved with the purchase of the SCS3 stirrup pads, though.

True to size
I have been having a hard time finding a boot to fit me. I have a very wide calf muscle and am only 5' tall. Most of the wide boots are several inches too tall, so the very specific sizing options worked well. It is one of few boots in this price bracket that offers this sizing. The bottoms of the soles have a cleating system that matches up with an angled stirrup pad that is designed to keep your heels down. One problem though; the ankles of the boot are not soft/pliable enough to keep your heals down for very long. The boot is cutting off my circulation while I break them in. I know this will go away with time, but it's frustrating because I needed them right away for showing.
