Why We Love This
Based on an Italian design, the MDC Sport Line brings to the market a combination of features not currently available from any one stirrup manufacturer. MDC Sport Stirrups offer the look and strength of stainless steel, blended with the lightness of polished aluminum. The bright metal finish maintains an elegant and traditional look in the show ring. MDC strongly believes that stirrups that adjust to your body are better stirrups, and MDC Sport Line features three preset stirrup positions: traditional, 45 degrees or 90 degrees.
The MDC Sport Classic comes with a solid base, for those who prefer a more traditional look and feel in their stirrup. They feature a wide base, non-slip aluminum pad, which provide a secure grip, but are less aggressive than “cheese grater” pads, which can cut boots, breeches, saddle leather and do not easily release in the event of a fall. A hinged base is available on the MDC Super Sport Stirrup.

Pain relief AND position assistance!
I feel like MDC advertises these mostly for their safety benefits, but they really need to hit the ergonomics angle! I bought these because I'd been getting some foot numbness while riding- I'd tried jointed and lightweight stirrups, and different footpads, but never really felt much difference with them. With these stirrups, as soon as I got on I could tell these were exactly what I needed- the 45° option felt like it actually fit my body conformation instead of forcing my foot to do the twisting, and the slightly sloped back edge feels SO comfortable, like it's eliminating a pressure point. And as a bonus, the first lesson I had with them my trainer goes "are those the new stirrups? It's actually kind of ridiculous how much better your leg is with them!" So... yeah I'm a believer now.

Amazing
I am so glad I purchased these! I love the option of changing the angle and any pressure/pain has gone away! Keeping my heels down has never felt this good!

Good Product, didn't work for me
I wanted to love these stirrups after reading all of the great reviews. I think these are a nice product that works great for some people. I tried them for a few weeks on both my jump and dressage saddles. I liked them more on the dressage saddle, however, I kept losing them when my horse would spook slightly which has never been an issue with traditional stirrups. On the jump saddle I had to raise the leathers a few extra holes due to the iron size. My leg was never stable with these stirrups, I tried both at the 45 angle and 90 angle and could not get comfortable. I originally bought these due to issues with knee/ankle pain and numbness (while riding) with my right leg, and unfortunately the stirrups did not help the issue. Although I'm disappointed these didn't work for me, I do think MDC makes a great, solid product that works really well for many riders.

Knee and ankle saver
My barn mates had been telling me about the wonders of these stirrups. I'm an engineer and I couldn't understand why a simple shift of the hang of the stirrup would make THAT big a difference. But once I got them, my knee pain went away after two rides. My hips were able to open more effectively and I started to sit the trot better. Then I remembered my statics class and the way force works on an object to cause torque, and I realized that just the slight rotational force of the traditional stirrups was absolutely causing stress. I only wish I had bought these sooner!

Great investment
Bought these due to the reviews I heard about them. I was using a similar style wide bed stirrup but they weren’t heavy enough. The MDC sport classics are nice and sturdy as well and have helped my riding immensely.

Best stirrup!
I read the reviews on these stirrups and decided to try them. Everything is just as stated. They really did improve my balance and stability with the wide and grippy foot pad. Super easy to pick up a lost stirrup! Love them and glad I spent the money, well worth it!

Wide footbad is strange
Stirrups are such a personal thing, so while these are well made and may be great for some people, they were not for me. I could not get my heels down with the wide footbed. I found myself putting weight into the balls of my feet, and at the sitting trot my feet were bouncing all around. I rode in them only once and knew they weren't for me. When you think logically about a wide footbed, you can see how getting your heel down is an issue!

Ankle saver!
I have a VERY bad ankle (bad break many years ago) and felt relief from both the extra large pad footprint as well as the stirrup hanging much easier to retrieve tho now I'm not dropping my stirrups nearly as much! I tried the extra flex type in another brand so I already knew they created way more stress on an already weak ankle and therefore knew to choose the non flex style! I love these!

HUGE difference
A few months ago I sprained my ankle really bad. Those who had sprains know the pain of unstable ankles and that horrible "popping" sensation when the joint gives. I have tried ACE wraps to my ankle under my boots, athletic tape around my ankle, even an ankle brace stuffed under my boot ever so tightly. Never failed that my ankle would still give everytime I would ride. The moment I would start posting my ankle fails. It's a major set back--almost discouraging.
My trainer suggested these and I was skeptical because well every stirrup claims the best features. But reviews seemed to touch on an issue I had--bum ankles.
Let me just say THESE ARE BEST!!!! It made me forget about my ankle. I don't feel my ankle instability at all. Posting, cantering, and jumping are very easy on my ankle now. Takes off so much pressure that my ankles feel so soft. I also have "weaker" lower legs so they aren't as still as they can be. These SIGNIFICANTLY improved my leg position. I thought maybe my ankle may just have been getting better and my lower leg may have improved. I switched saddles with the fillis irons a few weeks after only using MDC-- oh my gosh did I suffer. I felt so insecure. My ankle gave and gave and gave. I stopped five minutes after posting and asked my trainer if I can switch irons really quick. She laughed and said to try a lesson without those and see how I do. Needless to say I had a great lesson, but could have cried from the pain in my bad ankle. It kept popping. My legs were waving at the world.
THESE IRONS MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE. I'm someone who loves to stay within budget but--Worth every penny, get them if you have weak ankles or struggle with lower leg position/heels.
