Excellant Girth
I purchased this rather expensive girth because I have spent way too much money on leather girths that always end up rubbing. The girth is wonderful, no rubs, even in very hot weather. Love the buckle covers! My trainer checked it out and is going to purchase one also. Just washed it and it looks great. I have only had it a couple of weeks, so can't comment yet on durability.

Good product
The gift is well crafted and worth the money. The fleece covers all of the girth and my 26 yr. old mare was thankful. Very expensive though.

happy mare
My mare is round and short backed. She has been a challenge to fit saddle-wise and finding a girth to please her has not been easy either. She most recently wore a Logic girth, but has lost weight(poor girl on a diet!) and needed a smaller size.....Mattes girth to the rescue! How lovely! So soft and fluffy and so well designed for the horse and the rider. It is extremely well functioning(happy mare, saddle not moving forward during canter) and so sleek with the little cover over the buckles. Having no complaints from my mare....priceless!

Nice girth, but maybe not for a little horse.
Got this to try on my mountain horse who is rubbed by absolutely everything.
The girth is well made and the sheepskin very soft.
However, the mare is just so little that it was too much bulk behind her elbow.

Horses love this girth
I have purchased two of these girths in different sizes for use on two different horses that get very bad girth sores. On the first horse, I tried tons of different girths and covers all much cheaper and finally gave in and bought this girth. Problem solved. Years later, a new horse had the same issues, unfortunately, he couldn't use the same size girth. I didn't bother with cheaper ones this time. The horse loves the new Mattes girth and is much less "girthy" too. (The old girth is 6yrs old and still in excellent condition).
