Love it!
My horse really, really likes this bit and she is quite fussy about what goes in her mouth. She doesn't try to fight this bit at all and she salivates a lot with it in. We are both less tense and she is much happier about being ridden now.

Nice bit
I bought this bit for my 7 year old mfth, just to switch it up a bit, and it turns out he is much less tense with this bit than his old one. Over all i really like the quality, and the size of the d's they dont look to large on his small face.

Well Made
This bit is well made and seems to be a good quality steel. It appears to be laser etched making the size of the bit easily read.

Good simple bit
This is a good simple bit - it does squeak a very little, but much less than the D ring I was using before. I wish it were a little thicker, but my horse seems happy with it. And the price is good too - overall a good value.

I finally found a bit she likes!
Until now, I'd never found a snaffle my mule went well in. She is awesome in a mullen/low port pelham with two reins for trail riding and such, but for flat work it just wasn't cutting it. Over the years, the prevailing message about snaffles was that a single jointed mouth should be avoided and double jointed ones were kinder, softer, etc.
I've lost count of the number of bits we've tried. On a whim, I decided to buy this bit just to see. The price was great and I was familiar with the quality of Korsteel bits.
The day after it arrived, I tried it out. It was like someone flipped a switch - she wasn't bracing, evading or coming behind the bit, nothing. I can finally get good figure eights and serpentines and have her work with me - not fight against the bit.
However, I will keep it for flat work only. While I hardly ever use my curb rein, I like knowing its there if I need it. You never know what will happen, and better safe than sorry.
Overall, I love this bit and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Exactly what I wanted
I was looking for a quality plain D-ring snaffle that wasn't super thick. The price was great and the Korsteel was super. SmartPak is the first place I look for equipment.
