I purchased these because the horse size fly boots were about two inches too big for my large pony. These boots do not have the same closures on them. Instead of having three Velcro straps, there are only two, which leaves a gaping hole when they are on my pony. I didn't feel it would do much to protect his legs from flies, especially if they are able to get in the hole in the middle. If they had a third strap, I'm sure they would be fantastic.

They fit but
The fly boots fit my Arab better than any other but only having two staps leaves a bulge opening in the middle. If they had three straps I would highly recommend them for people with horses with slim legs.

SmarkPak asks for a durability rating but wants a review right away, so I gave them a good since they've been thru the wash once and held up.
Only negative:
They go on and off easy, but need the third velcro like the horse ones. They gap in the middle, so I put some vetwrap loose, around the middle to keep them closed. This is a bit of a pain but for the price (less than half single pair cost, for horse size) they're good.

Helpful product
Leg flies are always a challege, even in the best-kept barns. These boots are helping my 2 tolerate these pests. They wear them outside in their pastures, and also in their stalls. The velcro makes it easy to re-adjust daily and check the horses legs.
A 3rd velcro closure would be helpful to prevent gapping and holding them up.(Horse size have 3).

Not Worth It!
The pony fly boots only have 2 straps. With only 2 straps, the fly boots were open in the middle. Tried several different ways to strap on the boots, but none worked. Do not buy!

Not Good for Ponies
These fly boots only have 2 straps for ponies. A strap is needed in the middle; the boots open in the middle where there is no strap. The flies can fly in where the boot is open.
