IT Project Manager

Position Summary:

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a big impact in a rapidly growing company. The successful candidate will be working in a team environment supporting our Software Development team in charge of all development projects for both internal and external applications. This role requires professional, customer-oriented individual with demonstrable problem-solving skills.

Position will involve constant business communication and management of projects and tasks for the development team. Involves heavy communication and participation in business meetings to develop project specifications, collect requirements, and follow up on tasks. This position requires strong competence in understanding technical systems and databases, a willingness to learn a complex system, and an ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business professionals. This is a full time onsite position and will report to the Vice-President of Technology.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Excellent communication, documentation and multi tasking skills coupled with a "can do attitude"
  • Collect feedback through agile practices such as burndown charts and retrospectives, and interpret trends in order to promote continuous improvement
  • Help further develop, maintain and tune agile software development life cycle processes
  • Act as a liaison between the Software Development group and internal business units to assure successful project completion and superior communication
  • Complete requirements gathering through meetings, one on one conversations, and observation
  • Works with the project participants to define, negotiate, communicate and manage the scope of the project
  • Conduct project kick off, post mortem, check-ins, and facilitate training as part of the project lifecyle
  • Refine and further develop a system for choosing the right projects for the business and completing them on time
  • Manage project requests and prioritization for large projects as well as day to day maintenance activities.
  • Participate in and coordinate project planning meetings
  • Manage development projects through outside vendors and contractors
Minimum Requirements:
  • BA or BS in a technical or business field
  • 5-7 years experience in as a product, project, or program manager in a technical field
  • Sense of Humor!
  • Superior business communication, writing and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated analysis/assessment capabilities
  • Experience with Scrum, Extreme Programming or another Agile development methodology
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in mediation, negotiation, argumentation and presentation
  • Aptitude for creative problem solving
  • Detail and goal oriented toward project completion
  • Continuous desire to learn and improve
  • Demonstrated ability to pay persistent attention to detail, while maintaining an overall view of the situation
