IRH Medalist Helmet 4.4 5 21 24
Perfect! Great helmet, great fit. I am super happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone! April 13, 2013
Great Value! When I found out that I was going to have some young visitors spend Spring Break at my farm, I purchased some of these helmets in different sizes to make sure that I have properly fitting head protection for everyone. I was totally surprised when these arrived. The helmet has a lot of the style and comfort features of my more expensive helmets--and I LOVE the classic styling (and so did my visitors)! (It even has the ribbon in the back.) The helmets are also somewhat breathable and are light-weight, but not light like the totally vented Troxels. And due to the limited breathability, this helmet would be fine year-round if you're likely to wear it for hour-long lessons, but probably not your best choice for longer use in the summer heat. I totally recommend this helmet if you're just starting out and need something that will protect your noggin and please your trainers--or just prefer a traditional equestrian look. April 4, 2013
No mushroom head!! Love the helmet.. covers my ears just right so they don't pop out and does not create the mushroom head appearance. Thank you! April 2, 2013

Great, attractive helmet for the price Just bought DD this helmet at my local Smartpak store. She has a round (not oval) head and it fits very well. The look is fairly low-profile and doesn't give her "mushroom head." Excellent price for a traditional, well-fitting helmet. As always at SmartPak, the sales assistant went above and beyond to help her try different brands and styles until she found the one that fit the best. Your service is the best anywhere. I am rating the Durability as "average" because it is brand new and we don't have any idea how it will hold up. November 9, 2012
Excellent Helmet, Great Value! First and foremost, I will say that I am a bit of an old-fashioned gal at heart, and much prefer the traditional black velvet/een helmet over the fancy vented/colored helmets that are so popular these days. If you're like me and appreciate an attractive, light weight, comfortable, lower-profile helmet that is easy on your wallet - THIS is the one for you! I do have a longer-ovaly head, and although this is not IRH's specific "LONG OVAL" shape - it does fit me VERY well. This helmet looks nice, although it isn't THE lowest-profile, it is MUCH lower-profile than others I have tried #or owned# in the past. Charles Owen helmets are more mushroom-y than these #yes, I have tried them#. It really is a great value, great helmet, and like I said - if you like the "traditional" style, I don't think you will be disappointed with this one! September 25, 2012

To Clip or Not to Clip I've heard that body clipping in the spring is "too late" because you're clipping over the newly growing in coat... What do you think? What's the best body clipping schedule? - Jessica N., Charlotte, VT
