Herm Sprenger Braided Spur Straps 4.6 5 7 7
Well-priced, does its job These are straightforward nylon spur straps that do its job. Has not frayed or torn with daily wear. May 15, 2013
Nice spur straps I bought these so I could have spur straps which were more adjustable than leather. These allow me to adjust them to the exact tension to be comfortable yet keep my spurs from moving. They are shorter than I expected. When fully tightened, I have about 1 1/2 inches left. This is nice, because there isn't a long piece of strap to flap or tuck in. At the the same time, they may be too short for some people. They would also likely work very well for children. Best braided spur straps I am so glad to have found these spur straps! I have a pair from years ago and the local tack shop has these $4 ones that are way too long, thin, and sloppy on the ends. I've been looking for these and as so glad SmartPak has them! These are thick and just the right length. I wear a 7.5 field boot have have plenty of extra, but not so much it can't tuck under the spur and it DOES NOT hang down past my sole like the other cheaper braided straps. Braided straps in general are my preference because they are infinitely adjustable. January 21, 2013
Much better than the cheapies The main problem I've had with $3 spur straps is that the ends get shredded and are then difficult to thread through the buckle. These have a nice plastic leader. October 26, 2012
I didn't like these spur straps at all. Didn't realize that they weren't leather. They are cheap. Take them out of your catalog. October 1, 2012
Spurs (and boots) Prefer HS I bought several spur straps this year and like these the best. While braided may not look as formal on a dressage boot as leather, they're so much easier to work with looks didn't matter. And these are wider than most spur straps, so once you fit them to your spur and boot they stay in place. They just have a quality feel to them. I swear when I apply my spur with these straps my horse gives me more of a "Yes, Ma'am" answer! July 5, 2012

To Clip or Not to Clip I've heard that body clipping in the spring is "too late" because you're clipping over the newly growing in coat... What do you think? What's the best body clipping schedule? - Jessica N., Charlotte, VT
