Happy Mouth Jointed Elevator 4.9 5 8 8
My hard mouthed horse loves this. My gelding pulls pulls and runs and being a small rider I could hardly control him in anything but a pelham, but it was hard to be supple with a pelham. I used a mullen mouth pelham for about 5 months and when he started being more soft I moved on to this bit. I love it so much I cant even begin to explain. Its alot softer and lighter then the feeling of the mullen happy mouth bit. Like lighter and softer, if I hold both bits in my hand the elevator is ALOT lighter. I ride with one rein on the second hole and it works perfectly. My horse goes into a more long and low frame perfect for hunters, verse the dressage frame he would go into with the pelham. Its also nice for when he gets strong and throws his head down after the jumps because the bit allows me to easily lift up his head with the elevation and gain control without ripping his mouth apart. I love love love this bit. I looked for it cheaper and no where else had comparable rates when it included shipping and such, I ordered it with my smartpak, got the free shipping and as always with smartpak it came in the mail earlier then estimated. LOVE THIS BIT & SMARTPAK. Id recommend it 100 times over. June 29, 2011
Truly Happy Bit I bought this bit for my daughter's pony/mare. When we got her she was very forward and running at jumps. With this bit my daughter has the control she needed, is able to collect before the jump without loosing an energy. The pony is a typical mare with an attitude and mind of her own. This bit helped to make her very ride-able and happier. I love to see the progress they accomplished together. April 22, 2011
Great bit!! My horse and I love this bit! It is comfortable for him while keeping him light in the front end.No more rooting me down. March 7, 2011
Great Bit This bit has been very effective with my young warmblood on cross country. It's gentle to his mouth, yet gives me the extra security I need when galloping outside. June 9, 2009
A++++ I use this bit on all of my jumper horses and I love how I can change the levels of pressure with the rings! March 2, 2009
Excellent Bit I really love this bit for my mare. I love how I can change the strength of the bit. My mare is a very forward horse but has a soft mouth I wanted something that would would be soft enough that she wasn't bothered by it but strong enough when needed. Usually we work on the snaffle ring on the flat and the second ring over fences and on those "fresh" day. Great quality bit and should last for a long time. February 5, 2009

To Clip or Not to Clip I've heard that body clipping in the spring is "too late" because you're clipping over the newly growing in coat... What do you think? What's the best body clipping schedule? - Jessica N., Charlotte, VT
