Smell and quality
My horse won’t even touch this. The smell of it is absolutely awful. I don’t blame him at all for not wanting to eat it. I just got new smartpaks and was really hoping this would help his coat, mane and tail but he won’t eat it at all and if I try to wet his grain down to get it to stick he won’t touch his grain! Very disappointed that I wasted my money!

Used to be a great coat suppment
I fed Grand Coat for the last 8 years to all of our horses. This summer, I received a bucket that was rancid. SmartPak promptly sent a new bucket. I started keeping the Grand Coat in my air conditioned house. One bucket lasts our herd about 4 weeks. My last order, the second bucket, which been kept in an air conditioned house for a month, became rancid after 2 weeks, half way through the bucket. I don't know if this is related or not, but one filly who was doing well on her ulcer supplement and grand coat, suddenly got bad diarrhea, and needed medication for ulcers, even though she had done well previously on her supplements.
I don't know what changed in the processing of this supplement, but it isn't for the better. I used to leave it in the feed room, in the heat, and never had a problem until this summer. I will no longer feed this supplement, or buy anything else from Grand Meadows.

My horse loves the taste
My horse can be pretty picky and she actually loves this . It's kind of hard to tell if it's working because she's been on it for only a month but I do notice some dapples coming in !

Great inexpensive coat supplement.
After feeding 3 tubs, my formerly itchy horse has very shiny and strong tail hair. She had much less mid-line itch this summer and quit rubbing her tail. Now when I brush or comb her tail the hair doesn't break or pull out.

Love it!
I have used this in the past and it always puts a great shine on my horses. I recently purchased it again because I started reading up on different products that contain Omega 3 and this one had the highest levels that I could see. My vet thinks my 22 year old mare might be stepping into the cushings era soon and so one thing you can do to help cushings (along with other things) is make sure they have a high level of omega 3 in their diet. So I added Grand Coat back into my 2 horses' diet. As for their coat they both had dapples coming out of winter where they normally have that dry coarse coat because of shedding.

Great Product !!
I purchased this product a month ago and getting ready to order again. Its a great product for skin and coat. I saw improvement to hair coat and skin in 2 weeks time. I know with continued use it will just get better !! I highly recommend this product.

Best Coat Supplement!
I switched my dark bay mare to Grand Coat at the end of this summer. I have used many different coat supplements in past, including supplements made specifically for bays. NOTHING has worked as well or as quickly as Grand Coat! She was fully clipped about 3 weeks after starting her on it and her coat has never been so vibrant, dark and shiny! She usually turns a dull gray so I was shocked. I get compliments everyday from my barn mates and no one even noticed that she was clipped until I told them! My mare also had no trouble eating the powder. It's a little more expensive than other comparable supplements but trust me it's worth the money!

Althoulgh this is a powder, my horse licks it up with delight. He was a gift from special friends, so I want him to have the best of everything. His coat is so shiny, he looks like bright copper!

Grand Coat
I had my Morgan on Grand Complete and to cut costs I switched him to Grand Coat. (He really only needs a coat supplement at this point.) I didn't really notice a huge difference. His coat is a little shinier, but his skin is still dry, and he still has dandruff. I am currently on a quest to find a better skin and coat supplement. He rubs his tail a lot and I am trying everything to discourage that because I do show him during show season, and his tail needs to be braided. He also seems itchy all the time. I did notice that his hair grows faster when he is on Grand Coat. I would recommend this supplement to a friend! :)
