134 Please note: As with all hay nets, the Freedom Feeder should be hung at a sufficient height to avoid the risk of entanglement. To withstand the pulling and chewing associated with a hay net in use, the nylon mesh is extremely durable and will not give under pressure. As a result, it?s important to ensure the hay net is safely secured and won?t become loose as the hay is consumed.

I don't love this hay net

"The quality of these is nice, but I ended up returning the 2 hay nets I purchased because my horses would not eat out of them. I tried them for several days and I don't know if it was the feel of the material or what. The small size does not hold enough hay for a track system or overnight dry lot, they seem to spin when they try to use them. Perhaps that is why they didn't eat out of them. They would be a good size for a trailer."

"I bought this for our Pony after a friend started using one with her horse. She started having problems after a month or two. Her horse would tear a hole in it, she would mend it, he would tear another... It took our Pony a few months to start tearing it apart. The idea is good but it doesn't hold up. Cinch chiX has a much better net, similar concept but stonger material."

"I have been using this for over a month now, and I am in love! I waste so much less hay. I was concerned that my horse would get caught on it, but he hasn't hooked a blanket or a shoe on it, and he does not wear a halter in his paddock. He is on 24/7 in/out with access to a stall. Before the hay net, he pulled his hay to the door of the stall, and ran in and out over it. When it rained, it got wet. I was hauling out almost as much wasted hay as I was feeding. By dinner time, he was starving because his hay was mussed.
Now he has access to fresh unspoilt hay all day. I only have to fill it every couple of days, and he is less stressed and hungry at dinner time. Much more pleasant for both of us!
I do wish that you had a pic of the regular sized hay net posted so it is clearer when shopping. I am very happy with what I got, but I did not realize it would look the way that it does with a foldover.
Thanks so much!"

"I bought this cause it looked easy to load, and it was. For as long as it lasted, which was 3 uses and my pony put a 12" hole in the bottom of it... It would be a great item if it were constructed of tougher nylon. As it was, it was NOT worth the money and i bought the cheaper small hole nylon nets to replace it. Which are great, just harder to load."

"I purchased this net for my goats because they waste so hay when I use the average horse hay net. Now, because of the smaller holes, I save at least 75% of the hay. I definitely will purchase a larger one for the horses.
I would recommend this item to anyone who is tired of all the wasted hay left on the ground.

"This hay bag is very sturdy and is holding up to my horse's use. I like the fact that it holds a lot of hay - up to a half of a bale. But it is a pain to open and close. I have found that the clips are not sufficient to keep the horses out of the top. So I weave the cord they sent with it to ensure that the horses can not get in it. This makes refilling it time consuming. I also bought heavier clips to hang it with."
