Fly Armor Replacement Inserts (Patent Pending) 4.3 5 3 3
Helps with Bugs! I purchased some of the "kennel" bug armor to attach near my horse's window as she kept putting her head out at night and would be covered with welts by the morning. After reading about it, I got two for her 3'x3' window, as the ambient temperature is relatively low at night. While I still find flies in the stall, these seemed to work as she no longer has welts on her neck. I gave it a 4 for quality as I had to purchase a different tape to use to stick the holder to the wall. November 9, 2012
I attached the Fly Armor to my horse's halter last September. The insets fit securely and are still in place. I can still smell the inserts although they have been in use for over 8 months. May 24, 2012
Would help with the flies if they didn't fall out These seem to work well when the inserts are there but the biggest problem is they fall out & get lost! They just slide in with nothing to hold them there, I am going to try to maybe add a stitch in at the end - I don't think it would take much, I am using the double noseband or pollband & since they don't follow the curve of the horse's head they stick out & eventually work their way out. To Clip or Not to Clip I've heard that body clipping in the spring is "too late" because you're clipping over the newly growing in coat... What do you think? What's the best body clipping schedule? - Jessica N., Charlotte, VT
