Equine Comfort Products Wool Classic Half Pad 4.6 5 7 7
Gets the job done I bought this for schooling on my thoroughbred gelding because I wanted something less bulky under my jump saddle than my sheepskin half pad, but still wanted to give him extra protection on his back. I really like how it fits under my saddle and gives me a close contact feel. It looks pretty nice, but not as lush as the sheepskin does. I think it's a nice pad for the price. My horse seems to be comfortable with it and I haven't had any sort of rubbing or pressure spots on his back come up since I've been using it. It sticks out about two inches behind my 17" jump saddle, which is an inch longer than I would prefer, but doesn't look too bad since it lays flat on the saddle pad below it. March 26, 2013
Fits and Looks Nice Bought this pad to protect my thoroughbred's sensitive withers. It fits great under my dressage saddle and looks nice with a white saddle pad. It also seems to keep him comfortable. February 11, 2013
Great half pad Great fit. Have only had few weeks, but used 3-4 times week. Already washed once and looks great, no problems!!! Very nice for the price. January 29, 2013
Love! This half pad was exactly what I needed. I had a saddle that was a little wide for my new horse and after only a few rides it gave the poor guy two sores on his withers. So I sold that saddle and bought another that actually fit. Still, even though there was plenty of clearance I couldn't find anything that wouldn't rub his scabs open. After trying all kinds of synthetic fleece pads, non-slip pads, etc, my saddle fitter said I needed to use an ECP authentic wool product directly on his back. Two weeks later and the rubs are totally gone. In fact, while breaking in my new flocking I used this pad only and it was great. Only thing is that after a few sweaty rides the wool is starting to stick to itself and flatten. I'm sure that with a wash and brushing the wool out it will plump up as before. This is not as thick as some wool half pads (thus the lower price point) but perfect when you just need a thin layer of sheepskin to keep your horse comfortable. September 8, 2012
Lovely Half Pad for Good Price This halfpad fits great and works great, and washes well too. The only problem I had was that even with the washing some of the dirt stains wouldn't come out, which was bad for the show. July 19, 2012
Good Buy! Great Half pad! I have used this for a year, and it still has no wear and tear! It's just wonderful, and affordable! July 8, 2012

To Clip or Not to Clip I've heard that body clipping in the spring is "too late" because you're clipping over the newly growing in coat... What do you think? What's the best body clipping schedule? - Jessica N., Charlotte, VT
