Manufacturers recommend dosing a horse with a larvacidal dewormer such as ivermectin or moxidectin before beginning administration of a daily dewormer, to help destroy existing larvae and adult parasites. Manufacturers also recommend horses receive ivermectin or moxidectin once or twice per year to control bots AND praziquantel once or twice per year to control tapeworms.

I have always used paste dewormers as I was concerned about the possibility of having a resistance issue with worms. Then I bought my current horse who I was told is allergic to paste wormers. After speaking with my vet, I decided to try him on this continuous wormer. Four years later it is still working great. He is one of the only horses at my barn that is having no issues with worms! Peace of Mind I have miniature horses and it is important to me that they stay healthy and colic free. I love these products and dealing with the personel at Smart Pak has been a pleasure too. It gives me some peace of mind to know that the minis digestive systems are receiving some great care. February 28, 2013
old standby I've used this product for years and years. It's great for horses who are experts at spitting out paste wormers, and no one has refused it yet. And the price is the best of all the continuous wormers of similar chemical. February 25, 2013
trying I just started using this product. I have a 6 year old show horse who has had 3 neg. fecal labs prior to beginning. Just wanted to make sure we did not have a lot of worms before starting. I am using this only on my show horse as she is under more stress and I want to see if this will really help her with feed utilization and overall condition. The mare is a dressage horse (2nd level) and lower level (training level) event horse. Will see how it goes. January 31, 2013
Don't go without it This is one of those products that you don't readily see the benefits of till you quit using it. I've had my horses on it for years, but when I moved recently, I took them off of it in an effort to cut cost. It took a while, but I saw a difference in the quality of their hair coat & found that I needed to feed more grain in order to maintain weight. Needless to say, put them back on it. Hair coat quality has come back & have been able to reduce the amount of grain being fed. October 30, 2012
excellent product My picky eater gobbles this right down. Seems to work great. August 28, 2012
