Great Product!! My horse LOVES her garlic. She will eat all the flakes right out of my hand( which she prefers). I only use the garlic starting in the spring and stop in the fall for the flies. It really does seem to help if I start early enough and when she gets regular exercise, the garlic smell comes out in her skin. It has been working wonders for the flies! It is cheap and well worth it! April 11, 2013
Absolutely Love This Product I have always given my horse garlic, but Hilton Herb Garlic Flakes has absolutely the best quality and my horse loves it! I highly recommend this product!!! February 23, 2013
Nice quality garlic. I've been supplementing my Thoroughbred with garlic from another company for almost 2 years and have noticed that he is definitely less bothered by insects during the buggy months. I was very happy to see that I can now include garlic in my horse's SmartPak supplements instead of packaging it separately. Great job SmartPak! February 11, 2013
Garlic Flakes for Natural Insect repelant I started my new OTTB gelding on garlic flakes in an attempt to reduce the amount of insects around him because he is very sensitive. We started in the winter, so we will see how effective this is as spring and summer roll in. He does eat all of the flakes for the most part but he doesn't Love them and wouldn't eat them on their own, which is the only reason I gave it a 4 for palatability. February 6, 2013
Good stuff; they eat it Both of my horses have been eating garlic for years; i feed it to improve their immune systems, bugs and breathe (hahah). When I switched from granulated garlic i did so because i didn't know how the garlic was process and how old it was. great thing about this product, dried garlic essentials last so much longer in this form and storage is easy, just a tight closed container. fly repellent I got this to help with the flies. I was hoping it would get rid of all the flies, but it didn't. It does keep a lot of them off. I don't have to spray her all that much. It's worth the price, and I get it by the bag. She's a picky eater, so I have to mix it. She will eat it only if I doctor it up with some grain. November 13, 2012
