Collegiate Inside Rubber Reins 4.4 5 13 14
Collegiate Inside Rubber Reins I am just the purchaser. The trainer told me what to order. The idea was to provide more control of a large and determined horse by a lightweight young rider. The rider seems very satisfied with them when associated with a new bit. I put her level of expertise in your required section. I do not ride. April 22, 2013
Doesn't slip This a great rein. This rein is easy to grip and doesn't slip through my hands like a smooth rein. It has made getting used to riding with a double rein much easier. June 22, 2012
Great Curb Reins Bought these to be used for a curb rein. They work great because to the judge they look like flat plain reins, but they have the extra grip from the rubber so I can keep a better hold on them on the hot summer show days. February 5, 2012
Great Value and really nice! I love Collegiate tack and these reins are really nice! They are awesome value they last forever. I still have collegiate reins I bought 15+ years ago in Australia. I have never had any problems with Collegiate tack at all. These reins are great for everyday riding and suit both western and english style bridles. June 24, 2011
Very happy with this purchase Having pretty much always using laced reins (and having them slip out of my hands) I decided to give these a try seeing as they appear to be somewhat compareable to the ThinLine reins (just couldn't justify the $100-it's not Christmas yet). What I really like about these is, as I previously mentioned my laced reins have always slipped through my hands, these do not. I honestly feel that since I no longer feel that I need to well.. white knuckle my way through my ride to hold onto my reins (user error-yes) that my hands have become softer and my horse is responding positively to my hands. My only gripe is the leather is a little stiff but that's easily remedied with time and care. I'm not sure about the durability, seeing as I have only been using them for about a month but I've had a lot of luck with Collegiate products in the past. June 1, 2011
great reins!! these look nice on my show bridle, were reasonably priced, are not bulky, and provide great grip! what more do you need in a rein? May 4, 2011

To Clip or Not to Clip I've heard that body clipping in the spring is "too late" because you're clipping over the newly growing in coat... What do you think? What's the best body clipping schedule? - Jessica N., Charlotte, VT
