Clomicalm Adopted dog has severe seperation anxiety. Not sure if the product is helping. We have been giving it to him for about a year. Cut down to about 1/2 dose. While he is doing somewhat better, it could be due to a variety of factors. We are concerned about cutting him off completely. This product for our dog certainly did not produce huge benefits. Made a huge difference Have a female Australian Shepard with frustration issues that sometimes cause her to lash out aggressively when triggered by loud noices associated with things that "move". Her aggression had been restricted to trying to attack the source of the noise (vacuum cleaner, lawn mower, tires of loud vehicle, golf cart backing up with buzzer blarring, etc.). Recently she began attacking our other dogs when something triggered her. We were close to having to make a decision we did not want to have to make and this product was recommended. Within a week we becan to notice that many of the things that had triggered her aggression for years were just not that much of a big deal any more. By two weeks into treatment, even if something triggered a negative response, the response was almost what you would expect from an Austrialian Shepard (as opposed to Cujo), and was very short lived. I highly recommend this for a dog that is obviously frustrated and has negative behaviors associated with anxiety and frustration. April 9, 2011
Truly a lifesaver! I am happy to be able to review this product. In May of last year I rescued a senior boxer/pit mix from the euthanasia list in NY. He was clinically symptomatic in every way for true and dire separation anxiety, and I had no choice but to medicate him while I helped him with behavioral therapy and of course the true healer- time. What I love about this is that it hasn't changed his personality- and it isn't a magic sedative, he still exhibits signs of anxiety, but the medicine simply takes the edge off and helps him to relax and be able to focus on learning about being calm while alone. It has saved my dog, my house and probably my sanity! April 8, 2011
Great deal if you need the drug My country-dog-extraordinare, a boxer mix, just could not seem to get a hang of living in the city. His noise sensitivity turned into a full blown phobia. In two months' time he went from a "nervous dog, but perfectly housebroken" to "petrified outside, bolts back home" to "refuses to come out from under the table if leash is in vicinity" to "refuses to leave house at all, cowers, shakes and eliminates exclusively indoors" dog. He was pitiful and it wasn't a happy situation. Our vet prescribed Clomicalm and it seems to definitely take the edge off. He'll never be a dog you can easily take for a walk but at least he is now housebroken again and does not shake and hide when he sees his leash. Buying it from Smartpak is a great deal - about 1/2 of what the vet's office charged. November 30, 2010
Best Value for the Product My teacup toy poodle will be on Clomicalm for the rest of her life, do to being diagnosed with separation anexiety. We've purchased her meds from others but found that you have the best price for her medication. And it's the same identical medication that we had previously purchased from her Vet. As full-time RVers and traveling all over the US in our motorhome delivery is very important. SmartPak is excellent in getting the ordered medication to us, where ever we are. August 26, 2010
clomicalm this product was recommended for one of my cats that had problems with spraying. after being on the recommended dosage(5mg) for about two weeks, the spraying was virtually eliminated. works great, i'd recommend it to anyone having the same issues. August 16, 2010
