Kind of funky
I bought these being the only choice I had. When they arrived I was excited to see how they looked. Well lets just say in the least I was disappointed, the color was kind of like a LIGHT LIGHT brown almost orange . I'm hoping that oil will fix them right up! As for the quality of the leather is seems fair, very stiff out of the package.

good quality for the price
the leather is nice and doesn't look inexpensive...it is a great price for the quality.

Worth the price
Firstly, I would have liked more choices for this type of product. Having this as the only choice forced me into buying because it is something that I needed.
Secondly, I needed this in black for my dressage bridle, so the bright brown color is not desired, personally.
Thirdly, these are so thick, stiff, and cumbersome, too large to stay out of the way. They are clumsy in staying in place on the bit and made me feels as if they were holding the shank of my Pelham at an odd angle because they were too large and stiff to fit the correct angle.
They also already have a small rip/tear in the material from one ride.
If you need them to carry one set of reins, they will work, And are very affordable, but may not be quite as sensitive as some riders may find necessary to communicate with your horse with any sort of nuance. I will keep them for students, but am buying curb reins.

Pretty Good Little Gadgets!
I like having a pair of these on hand for the off-chance I've got a bit that's designed to go with 2 reins and I'd rather ride with one. If you're a major bit collector or are just riding a lot of different horses they're great to have around!
Leather is a bit stiff, not the highest of quality ever but not poor quality either. For the price, they do the job just fine!

Good enough for me.
These bit converters are too stiff for my liking, and mine were orange! Oil fixed them right up, but they're not something I'd step into a hunter ring with. You're doing yourself a favor to learn to ride with double reins!

Exactly What Was Needed
I am training a draft horse to go in a less harsh bit, a pelham, and I didn't want to have the hassle of two reins. These bit converters were exactly what I needed, and at the right price. SmartPak is becoming more impressive every day with their selection... especially when other companies aren't carrying the same quality, or the product at all.
These converters have done their job, held up very well and made a big draft horse, very, very happy. :) I highly recommend these converters to anyone who has the need for them.
