Creates beautiful color!
I purchased this along with new Antares stirrup leathers. I had purchased an Antares saddle used and I needed to match the leathers. The oil darkens the leather beautifully. I definitely recommend using a sponge and applying a decent amount. I initially only applied thin coats and ended up doing 5-6 rounds to get the right color.

Nice light oil
I just put my first application on my new antares bridle it is a really nice light oil that slightly darkened the bridle without a drastic color difference which I like so that I can get a more exact match to my other tack.

Hydrophane works better!
So i bought this because i just got a leather Antares breastplate and i wanted to take excellent care of my new pretty leather. The oil is light and not sticky like neatsfoot oil BUT it doesn't really darken or make the leather any softer even after several applications. Its a VERY SMALL container for the price!!! I used Hyrdophane leather dressing and it made a world of difference, it finally matches my tack after 3 applications. I would NEVER buy this again, even though "Antares recommends it".

Get the good stuff!
You won't be disappointed. Nothing is worse than having your tack crack, dry out or lose color. I'm a firm believer that most of that can be prevented with a great pre-treatment with Antares Leather Oil. I don't hesitate to really let it soak in on the first go around, and it means the tack stays soft and supple forever. Even lends a helping hand to poorer quality leather.

Antares oil
The oil works well, but not any better than other brands, so I feel it is too pricey for what you're getting. Neatsfoot oil works just as well and is lots cheaper.

I wanted to use this product because i bought the bridle. I like it, I think it is priced a little high for the amount you get. I will reorder when I need more.
