Adequan® I.M. is FDA-approved for the intramuscular treatment of non-infectious degenerative and/or traumatic joint dysfunction and associated lameness of the carpal and hock joints in horses.  Adequan® IM is available in 5 mL vials, packaged individually or in boxes of 7, or as a 50 mL multi-dose vial (all vials contain 500 mg of PSGAG per mL).

Instructions

The recommended dose of Adequan® I.M. in horses is 500 mg every 4 days for 28 days intramuscularly. The injection site must be thoroughly cleansed prior to injection. Do not mix Adequan® I.M. with other drugs or solvents.

Precautions

Caution: Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. Warning: Not intended for use in horses intended for food. Studies have not been conducted to establish safety in breeding horses. Dispose of spent needles in accordance with all federal, state and local environmental laws. Single dose vial. Discard unused portion. Store at controlled room temperature 18-25 degrees C (64 - 77 degrees F) All pharmaceutical products are shipped according to the manufacturer’s guidelines. In accordance with state and federal regulations, we are unable to accept returns on any pharmaceutical items. For all expedited deliveries UPS is responsible for delivering the package on time. Certain circumstances can arise where UPS is unable to deliver expedites on time due to weather, remoteness of location, etc. All efforts will be made by SmartPak to ensure that packages arrive on time as ordered, but we cannot guarantee that UPS will always act accordingly. In particular, orders indicated for Saturday delivery cannot be guaranteed. We strongly recommend that if the order is for a particular health emergency, customers should seek immediate assistance from their vet. If a UPS expedited delivery fails to arrive on time as ordered, SmartPak will refund the additional shipping charges incurred.
